I had a little 8.04 issue of my own; the logical device names were different at boot time and load time, so I couldn't have things like /dev/sdc1 in my /etc/fstab. I poked around some and found I could just use the UUID of the drive/partition I wanted and all worked well after that. Took me about three hours to figure out what was happening and fix it, though.</description>
